Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment
What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal tunnel syndrome otherwise known as median nerve compression causes numbness, tingling and weakness in your hands. The median nerve which runs through your arm passes through a section in your wrist called the carpal tunnel. When there is pressure on this nerve, this is when problems can occur.
Carpal tunnel syndrome affects around 5% of the population and can have a debilitating effect on individuals. The pain and numbness can seriously interfere with daily living and impact on your ability to parent, socialise as well as work.
